Leading us to a 15th overall pick and zero acquired assets because we decide to keep Coburn. Kimmo retires 3 months later.

But we make it into the playoffs, that's all that matters.

(frank) the tank

Nice win even if the Debs are wounded and suck

Even better seeing Read and Couts get going

Loved the Simmonds goal

BSchenn and Laughts what a shift

NJ was ripe for the picking but give the Flyers credit too. They took care of business. Baby steps. It looks like team confidence is building over the CA trip and this game.

Agreed. As Bill pointed out, a similarly beat up Columbus team beat the Flyers last month...got to TCB against banged up teams

That Devils team was terrible. They had zero offensive presence. My kids team could have given them a game. However those are must wins for this team just as the Canes game is as they are also horrible.
IF we are going to make playoffs I believe a deal would have to be done....defensive help and some strength up front would be nice.
We are still not out of the woods for that lottery pick!

i think this season theyre (frank)ed defensively unless roob will let manning play the 6th spot... cant be worse than what's been there. up front however is all together interesting. i gotta think vlc, sitting like he has maybe grew a chip on one of his shoulders and if so comes out like a gangbuster if roob ever gives him the nod. ryan white hopefully forces umberger out and we have some blueliners we could possibly trade ourselves... even if theyre in the hunt id like to see what they can get for amac.

just to clarify on manning, i dont think theyre getting a top pairing guy unless they move multiple pieces of their own blueline.

This month is likely the season. The Flyers have a comparatively weak schedule, not many pushovers, but they don't have a week like they have had in the early going (Three straight vs California teams or that stretch before Halloween where they had Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, LA & TB all on top of each other).

They have Carolina Saturday, then Tampa, Florida, Toronto, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Nashville, Phoenix, Colorado. They're going to need to get at least 12 out of a possible 18 points out of that stretch.

And given their place in the standings basically every game against a Metro team is an absolute must win.

There's no doubt of that. If they're going to make it, right now, they will have to lock up a top 3 spot in the division, because the Atlantic seems to have a stranglehold on wild cards

I would agree with that, and maybe even go as high as 14 points because as you mentioned this is a weak part of schedule and they must take full advantage.
Hey if Couturier and Read want to chip in with a goal or two on nightly basis then we may have a chance.
Still wish this team was tougher, it just doesn't seem to be the Philadelphia Flyers

He got off the hook pretty easy to. I would have thought the media would have ran with this for days but It lasted one day. The Leafs probably put " the case closed" out to all media outlets. He came across as a total fool...but he has been playing great since then ( God I hate the Leafs)
